What Do Board Members Do?

• Track Zoning Changes: Monitor changes to the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO) and provide feedback at City Committee Meetings and City Council.
• Building Permits: Review and support or oppose variance requests for building permits.
• Resource Management Plan: Participate in meetings for the Candelaria Nature Preserve and support concerns of neighbors adjacent to the Tree Nursery Tract.
• Advocacy: Contact City and State authorities to address issues that may impact the Rio Grande area and neighboring communities. 
• Community Engagement: Keeping residents informed about community issues, upcoming events, and board decisions through newsletters, meetings, or social media.
• Event Planning: Organizing community events to foster a sense of community and engagement among residents.

• Maintaining the website and social media accounts
• Planning Association gatherings
• Managing the mailing list (both email and physical addresses)
